To accomplish this goal, I need your help to win the Democratic nomination in September 2010.
A real sense of urgency for substantive leadership in Washington DC has been apparent for years now. We cannot afford to sit back wait and hope that we do not lose another generation to poverty and violence.
I am sure you will agree that we have already lost one entire generation to this culture of indifference.
Electing Barack Obama the first African-American President of the United States was just the beginning of permanent change that this city has been waiting years to enjoy. However, President Obama cannot do this alone. We all must step up to the plate and accept our share of this responsibility.
Adrian Fenty has already raised over $6 million dollars from lobbyist and special interest developers. Now is the time to tell Mayor Bloomberg and his New York Wall Street friends that Washington DC is not for sale!
I supported Adrian Fenty's election to office and thinks he is a nice person and very good lawyer with a bright future in the private sector.
You and I together will not almost raise $6 million dollars to finance this campaign. I do not think that we will need too, in order to secure the Democratic nomination. This will require hard work and a dedicated effort from every citizen. I am a community organizer with grass roots skills and I believe the best strategy is to have more foot soldiers in the streets of every ward, 1 thru 8 and concede no wards or votes. This will give us the best chance to over come these difficult odds and an opportunity for a credible challenge for the Democratic nomination.
