1. Create 10,000 new good paying jobs by investing $8 billion for the next 10 years in work force development and training. Helping small businesses and entreprenurs grow so they can hire more DC residents. Putting DC workers back to work and rebuild our once strong middle class.
2) Proceed with education reforms that citizens can trust. Emphasis on early childhood development and increasing the age to drop-out of school to 18-years-old. Provide a secure school facility for all violators and financial fines and penalties for parents. That a comprehensive 2010-2011 education budget be developed to track school improvement progress and establish accountability for the $2,000,000.00 we invest in our education system. I will issue a moratorium on the sale of all public school properties.
3) Establish a crisis task force to arrest falling house prices and eliminate 26,000 families on the waiting list for affordable housing. And generate revenue through the alcohol beverage control board to accomplish this goal.
4) Provide quality-affordable health care for every citizen of the District of Columbia.
5) Our system of administrative justice is in need of urgent reform. This system's application of justice in the community has adversely affected our quality of life and is building a permanent underclass in the District of Columbia. Complete reorganization of our courts and police department is long overdue.
6) I commit to end homelessness on the streets of Washington, D.C. by the end of my first term.
7) Provide substantial financial assistance to grandparents 45-years and older, raising children who have lost their parents due to death or imprisonment
8) Restore an environment of civility and equal opportunity where all citizens in every ward can feel safe and a valued part of this community.
9) The District of Columbia is facing a $600,000,000 budget deficit, record unemployment, and out-of-control taxes, fees, and parking fines. Strong leadership and tough decision making is required to stop this course of wrong direction.
